Former Shepherd’s Center Board President and current Executive Director, Wayne is responsible for the day-to-day management of the organization. Reporting to the Board of Directors, Wayne oversees finances, fundraising, personnel, and regulatory reporting; additionally, he participates as a member of the nominating, program, marketing, and sponsorship committees that are chaired by Board members.
After a 40-year career in banking and financial services, Wayne retired in 2014 and is delighted to have moved into his current role. In particular, he enjoys getting to know the Shepherd’s Center participants and finding out from them what activities and services are most important.
In addition to having served on other non-profit boards, Wayne has had extensive experience in holding leadership roles at his church. A native Californian, Wayne and his wife moved from Connecticut to Charlotte in 1998 and have two adult children and two grandchildren.
Director of Operations
Director of Office Operations is Margery Lindh. She handles the office operations, as well as overseeing the office and medical transportation volunteers. Margery serves as a member of the transportation and sponsorship committees, coordinates the annual “Chef Wars” and “Fall Fundraiser” events and puts together all the Adventures in Travel trips.
Margery is a native Charlottean, UNC-CH graduate, and enjoys reading, traveling, music and crossword puzzles in her spare time. Have questions about Shepherd’s Center? Margery’s the one to call!
Nina is responsible for Adventures in Learning, the Computer and Tax Aide Programs, and is SCC’s SHIIP Coordinator. In that role she manages volunteer program committees for each that do all the program planning, scheduling and implementation. This requires her to keep a lot of balls in the air at once which she does admirably.
Nina brings event planning, marketing, fundraising and training expertise to Shepherd’s Center from positions at Community Blood Center of the Carolinas and Morrison Family YMCA. Nina has a BA from Carthage College.
Assistant Office Manager
Diane’s background includes bookkeeping and administrative duties, and she was a volunteer in the Shepherd’s Center office for several years. Diane will be working with class registrations and payments, transportation & handyman requests, as well as being a friendly voice on the telephone.
