The Shepherd’s Center of Charlotte
Presents
Senior Choices Summits
The Senior Choices Summits were developed as a means to educate the older adult population in the Charlotte/Mecklenburg area on issues of interest to seniors..
In 2009, the Senior Choices Summits will be held in March, June, September and November. The March summit focuses on Pain Management Options; the June summit on Alternative Medicine Breakthroughs, the September summit will deal with Senior Housing Options and the November summit will feature information on Medicare Open Enrollment and Senior Health Insurance Information Program updates. Dates are Wednesday, March 11 (Covenant Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall, 1000 Morehead St.); Wednesday, June 10 (Jewish Community Center, Providence Rd.), September 16 at Pritchard Memorial Baptist Church on South Blvd. and November 18 at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church on Beatties Ford Rd.
The events will run from 9:30 – 12:30 a.m. Each event will feature expert presenters who will speak for approximately 20 minutes each, followed by questions from the audience.
The events will also provide an opportunity for area businesses and organizations to exhibit their products or services. The exhibitor tables will be placed around the room and will be available for attendees to browse before, during and after the presentations. The cost for a table sponsorship is $250/table. Exhibitors may share a table with another exhibitor if they wish.
The events were established as a means to promote The Shepherd’s Center of Charlotte as a pivotal senior organization which uses senior volunteers to help other, less fortunate seniors through education, assistance and understanding.
